Unexpected Blessings

Well yesterday Riley texted me from school (yes, I know he's not supposed to) and asked me to pick him up.  He's been dealing with a pesky headache for two days and rarely asks to go home.  I picked him up and chilled with him for a little bit before working from home on stuff that just had to be done.  Then, because Riley wasn't feeling good and Chad hasn't been feeling good, they stayed home from football and we had dinner together and chilled on the couch.  Riley was still running fever last night which meant no school today.  Now friday is my day off and I usually have it scheduled early in the week.  A little bummed, i cancelled my plans knowing full well that HOME is where I needed to be.  After running a few errands and taking Ri to the doctor that's where I am today.  As I was on Facebook a friend of mine at  Throneside posted the question "Name something that most people might consider small or insignificant, but in your life it's a true blessing." My response....HOME, that place where we don't get to spend enough time, the place that should be our sanctuary, the place where I GET to be today with a sick kiddo.  So what is something that may be small or insignificant to someone else but to you is a blessing?  Off to chill with my boy!

STAYcation Day 1

Well I'm doing something I've NEVER done before...I took a week off work just to be off work.  No agenda really... outside of rest, get some things I NEED to do done and get ready for my trip (mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally)  So Monday was a typical Monday bc Mondays are usually my day of, which I usually do SOME work...so I'm in training, learning how to NOT WORK for a week.  I did talk "work" with a couple people and read some e-mails.  Today I Went to the gym and didn't have to rush out to the next thing so I got to do a class AND run/jog/walk three miles.  Went to walmart to pick up odds and ends fo rthe trip, had lunch with a friend, did some more shopping for my trip, came home and enjoyed a long bath before picking up my kids from school.  We stopped for icecream and went BACK to walmart for stuff the kids needed and then i was delighted to hear baseball was cancelled so i COOKED DINNER(something that rarely happens at our house because we're usually headed out the door to our next "thing".  Finished the day off with a walk with a friend.  I am delighted to say I'm completely at peace and ready for ALL God has in store for me this week.   I finally compiled ALL my lists for everything I want/need to to this week for my family, for my home, and my trip.

Father  I pray that I walk completely submitted to your Holy Spirit leading this week.  May the use of my time energy and resources bring you glory!  Show me what needs to be done, and what can be left undone!
